About

Hot Tropical Yoga

Hot Tropical Yoga was proudly the first boutique Hot Yoga Specialist Studio to open in Australia in 2006 by Michelle Baldwin. Coolangatta on the sunny Gold Coast was our beautiful location for 12yrs where we provided a mix of heated and non-heated styles including but not limited to Bikram Yoga, Hot Yoga, Hot Flow, Vinyasa, Power Yoga, Tropical Fusion, Prenatal Yoga, Yin Yoga, Aroma Hot Yoga, Hot Props Yoga, Silent Hot Yoga, Bolster Yoga, Hatha Yoga, Yoga Therapy and the infamous Doga (Dog Yoga). We were also the first Hot Yoga Teacher Training Course established in Australia and provide a number of varied trainings, workshops, retreats and events in Australia and overseas.

Hot Tropical Yoga embraces ancient tradition in a modern art form of dynamic calorie burning yoga to tone, sculpt and de-stress. Though still moulded in traditional alignment, Hot Tropical Yoga encourages fun, flair and freedom of flow. Hot Tropical Yoga’s teaching is not based on one direct dialogue but instead comes from working with each individual student and class to provide a unique classroom experience filled with expertise, encouragement and enthusiasm. Our classes are designed for all levels and allow you to participate to your best potential – physically, mentally & spiritually! Hot Tropical Yoga specializes in Hot Yoga styles but promotes all yoga as good yoga! You will experience increased benefits from mixing your hot yoga styles, as well as a sense of overall health and wellbeing. Our studio space closed down in 2019 and Michelle now teaches Yoga, Sound Healing and Workshops via Online Classes, Private Classes, at special events and at Doga Fundraisers. Michelle has studied with many teachers including Bikram Choudhury, Baron Baptiste, Bryan Best, Dharma Mittra, Kathryn Budig, Ana Forrest, Seane Corn and Twee Merrigan.

Michelle has continued to increase her skills and studied Sound Healing, Thai Yoga Massage & Reflexology, Facial Acupressure and Indian Head Massage, Inferno Hot Pilates with Gabi Walters and Barre with Barre Body.

Michelle’s passion for yoga, health and wellness shines through in her teaching and success in her field over the past 16 years. When not practicing or teaching yoga, Michelle loves to combine her love of travel with yoga and has taught and hosted retreats in Japan, NY, Hawaii, NZ, HK, Maldives, Hunter Valley, Noosa, Magaret River and Byron Bay.
